Mohsen Keshavarz is a Professional Engineer with a PhD in Petroleum Engineering and over a decade of experience across reservoir engineering, field operations, economics, corporate strategy, and commercial advisory roles in Canada’s energy sector. His career spans hands-on engineering work in large-scale oil sands operations and progressively senior roles focused on investment evaluation, decision analysis, and enterprise-level strategy.

Mohsen has advised senior leadership teams on complex, high-value decisions involving capital allocation, portfolio optimization, technology development, and third-party commercial opportunities. His work integrates technical rigor with financial and strategic insight, translating uncertainty in markets, policy, and subsurface performance into clear, actionable decision frameworks. This combination of operational grounding and strategic perspective enables him to bridge technical, commercial, and executive considerations effectively.

In parallel with his industry career, Mohsen has remained actively engaged in education and professional development through teaching, mentorship, and service within the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He is passionate about supporting students as they prepare for careers in energy and is proud to serve on the SPECEF Board of Directors.

Outside of work, Mohsen has a deep interest in philosophy, history, and political science, and enjoys photography, traveling, skiing, and spending time in nature.
