David Langille
Chair
David is the Chair of the 2022-2023 SPECEF board. Hailing all the way from a Halifax suburb in Nova Scotia, David followed career opportunities out to Calgary, AB. Growing up David wanted to become a police officer like his Dad, but quickly realized his talents could move mountains in the energy industry. With a Bachelor of Engineering from Acadia & Dalhousie, Master of Engineering from University of Calgary, and an EMBA from Queen’s & Cornell, David does not shy away from furthering his education and knowledge. Currently, he is a Petroleum Engineer & Front-End Lead {Rocky] with Shell Canada Ltd.
Technology, teamwork, and integration inspires David to keep pushing forward in the Energy Industry. Winning the 2020 SPE Calgary Section’s Invaluable Volunteer Award, he is not slowing down anytime soon in respects of furthering Energy Literacy programs. On the weekends you can catch David getting some cycling in or getting outdoors with his boys.
