Claudio Virues

Claudio is the Treasurer for the 2023-2024 Finance & Fundraising Committee. He is an award-winning and accomplished senior reservoir engineer with extensive mentorship and instructing skills, and over 20 years of oil and gas industry/government experience. He has been recognized by the industry as an expert in rate & pressure transient analysis, near critical fluid characterization, Canadian and U.S. liquid rich shale oil & gas, heavy oil evaluation, reserves and resources guidelines, and best practices.

 

Claudio has recently graduated from Haskayne Business School with an MBA with specialization in Finance. He has been awarded the SPE International Distinguished Member, SPE Canada Regional Service and SPE Calgary Section Innovation. As a Chairman, he led the Calgary Section to obtain the SPE International President’s Excellence.
