John Graham

Scholarship Committee

John Graham graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1987 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.  He has 30+ years of oil and gas experience in Western Canada and Internationally.


John started out his career in the Peace River area working for what eventually became Numac Energy, during a 9 year stint John worked all over Western Canada. 


Following Numac he moved to Vatoil in Western Siberia which was a subsidiary of Lukoil where he spent 6 years.  The main focus of this position was production Optimization and working on bringing new technology and methods to the Vatoil personnel.  John started as a production engineer in this position and worked his way up to Director of Production Engineering.


John joined Suncor, in January 9 2002, and has held Production positions at Meadow Creek, Lewis, MacKay River and was the Director for Firebag Production Engineering were it ramped up from 40,000 bbls per day to its current rate of +/- 200, 000 bbls per day.  Currently he is an Advisor for Production Engineering as part of the In Situ Resources team.


John has held positions on the BOD of the CHOA and is a life time member with the SPE where he also holds a board position for the SPECEF.
